IMD Rain Alert: Big news! Heavy to very heavy rain on 29, 30 and 31 May, stormy wind with thunder, IMD high alert

Heavy Rain Alert: The Meteorological Department (India Meteorological Department) has predicted that heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue over the west coast of Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra and Goa during the next 3 to 4 days. Extremely heavy rainfall is likely over Kerala during 28 to 30 May.

Heavy Rain Alert: Heavy rains are likely in many areas of the country for the next 3 to 4 days. According to the India Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is formed over the northwestern part of the Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast. It is slowly moving north. According to the IMD, it may turn into a low pressure area over the northern part of the Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has predicted that very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely over the northeastern states and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till May 30.

Heavy to very heavy rain for 3 to 4 days

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue over the west coast Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra and Goa during the next 3 to 4 days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Kerala is likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall during 28-30, coastal and ghat areas of Karnataka on 28-29 and ghat areas of Tamil Nadu on 29 and 30 May. At the same time, a new round of strong winds with thunder and lightning is likely to start in northwest India from May 29 due to a new western disturbance.

Weather of South Peninsular India

  • Light to moderate rains with thunder, lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely over Kerala and Mahe, Karnataka during May 28 to June 1.
  • Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph will occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana during 28 to 31 May.

Weather of West India

According to the IMD, scattered to fairly widespread rains with thunderstorms are likely over Konkan and Goa during 28 May to 2 June.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely over Madhya Maharashtra on 29 May, and over some places over Konkan and Goa during 29 May to 2 June.

Weather of Northeast India

  • Light to moderate rains with thunderstorms are likely over Northeast India during the next 7 days.
  • Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during 29 May to 1 June.
  • During the next 7 days, extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and over Assam and Meghalaya on 29th and 30th May.
  • Heavy rainfall is also likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 29th May, over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 30th May.

Weather of East and Central India

  • Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with speed of 40-50 kmph are likely over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar during 29th May to 1st June.
  • Strong winds with speed of 50 to 60 kmph are likely over East Madhya Pradesh on 29th May and over Bihar on 30th May.

Weather of North-West India

  • Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.
  • Scattered to scattered rains are possible in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan during May 29 to June 2. Strong winds of 50-60 kmph are likely in Rajasthan till June 30.
  • Rain may also occur in Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on May 29-31, Punjab on May 29 and 30, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on May 30.
