Chandigarh- The Meteorological Department in Punjab has issued a warning of heavy rain for the next 36 hours. Accordingly, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in many parts of the state on September 2 i.e. today.

While on September 3 there is a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of the state. This warning will continue till 1 am on the night of September 3-4.

Currently, 12 districts of Punjab are in the grip of floods. These include Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Moga, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Mohali, Kapurthala, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. Due to the increase in the water level of Sutlej in Phillaur, Jalandhar, 2 feet of water entered the Shri Shani Mandir. The water level of Bhakra has also remained just 3 feet below the danger mark.

According to government data, 1312 villages have been affected so far. In the incidents that took place from Monday night to Tuesday, an almost 100-year-old building collapsed in Amritsar, CCTV footage of which has also surfaced. A 12-year-old girl died while other family members were injured when the roof of a house collapsed in Sathiala village of Amritsar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the phone and assured all possible help from the Center.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will hold a high-level meeting today through video conferencing. During the day, he visited the flood-affected areas of Ferozepur region. Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh has donated his entire year’s salary. On the other hand, the Haryana government has also sent an aid of Rs 5 crore.

Apart from this, the Nangal Bhakra feeder canal has collapsed at 12 places in Sri Anandpur Sahib area of ​​Rupnagar. Due to this, water came on the road. Minister Harjot Bains himself reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations with the people.

In an update issued by the Chandigarh centre of the India Meteorological Department on Tuesday evening, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in 8 districts today and in 13 districts tomorrow, Wednesday. Rain is also possible in other districts.
