Western Disturbances are essentially warm westerly winds that form from the Mediterranean Sea and move east. On the way, this wind picks up moisture and on reaching India and hitting the Himalayan mountain range, it turns into a western disturbance.


Due to which widespread rainfall is seen in these places. Once again two western disturbances have become active in the country. If the forecast is to be believed, the India Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of heavy rain and snowfall in many states this week.

IMD Alert, Today Weather Update: Two western disturbances are active across the country. Due to which big changes are going to be seen in the weather. In fact, in many states, on one hand, the forecast of heavy rain and snowfall has been expressed. At the same time, the possibility of lightning and lightning has also been expressed in many states. Rain and drizzle may be seen in some plains while a warning of light rain has been issued in the capital Delhi tonight. Earlier, a rapid rise in temperature was observed in Delhi, whereas in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, the sky will be cloudy with strong wind. Pink cold was experienced in the morning and evening while there will be a decrease in the minimum temperature as well.

Flashing and Landslide Warning

The effect of the Western Disturbance, which became active over the Western Himalayas on February 28, will be seen in the plains including the mountainous regions. Yellow Orange alert has been issued for heavy rain and snowfall in Himachal and Uttarakhand including Jammu Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Gilgit Muzaffarabad, whereas Orange alert has been issued for rain and snowfall in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh. A landslide warning has also been issued.

Increase in maximum temperature of Bihar

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be an increase in the maximum temperature of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. There will be sunshine in the sky. However, pink chill will be experienced in the morning and evening while the movement of clouds will continue in the areas. Heavy changes in the weather can be seen in East Uttar Pradesh while light showers can be seen in the capital Delhi on the last day of February.

Jammu-Kashmir Uttarakhand Himachal Pradesh was deficient in heavy rains since the beginning of the year. Jammu and Kashmir will be affected by the effect of back to back western disturbances.   • Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and hailstorm warnings have also been issued at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
  • Rain warning has been issued in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan along with strong wind. Apart from this, the possibility of hailstorm has also been expressed in Uttar Pradesh. Rain forecast has been issued today in the capital Delhi.
  • Today, light rain and thundershowers are possible over parts of Karnataka and Kerala including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
  • Heavy rain and snowfall forecast has been issued today in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from this, warnings of false brightness and hailstorm have also been issued. Landslides may also occur at some places.

Light to scattered rain likely in Haryana and Chandigarh

According to the Meteorological Department, from February 28 to March 5, light to scattered rain has been predicted in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, while heavy rain and snowfall have been predicted in Kashmir Valley, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh till March 5. Strong wind accompanied with lightning and landslides at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh from 1st to 2nd March in Uttarakhand and Punjab and Haryana with strong wind.

A cyclonic circulation lies over Northeast Bihar and neighborhood while a Western Disturbance lies over North Pakistan. Due to which effective activity will be seen in the weather.

Weather will change in Uttar Pradesh

Due to the active Western Disturbance, about 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh will be affected by the heat. The record of 12 to 13 years can be broken. Temperature jump can be seen in Kanpur, Prayag Raj, Ayodhya, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, Barabanki, Etawah, Sultanpur, Basti and Lucknow. Also, due to the active Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of this huge change in the weather. The maximum temperature has reached 30 degree Celsius in 12 districts. At the same time, the possibility of more of this has been expressed.

An increase in the night temperature is also being seen. The maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius can be recorded in Jhansi, Shahjahanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Kanpur, Etawah, Barabanki on the last day of February i.e. 28 February. However, the sky will remain cloudy in the western regions. Apart from this, a warning of brightness has also been issued. Rain is possible in some areas of Uttar Pradesh before Holi.

Heavy snowfall and rain before Holi in Himachal Pradesh

A forecast of heavy snowfall and rain has been issued ahead of Holi in Himachal Pradesh. Actually the Western Disturbance is active over the Western Himalayas. Due to which a drop in temperature will be seen. Despite being the hottest district in Bilaspur, the temperature remained normal. Meanwhile, a warning of lightning and rain has been issued in Himachal once again. A forecast of bad weather has been issued for 3 days. Continued heavy rain while hail in areas that have continued may also pose a problem.

Weather will change in Uttarakhand in 24 hours, yellow alert in 7 districts

In Uttarakhand from Badayun to Pahar Parivar, the Western Disturbance has again become active. Due to which orange alert has been issued in 7 districts within 24 hours. There is a possibility of rain in Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Tehri and Dehradun. At the same time, rain and snowfall are possible in the higher areas of 35 meters. Apart from this, during 24 hours, possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in Pithoragarh including Dehradun, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag along with lightning and hailstorm in some areas has also been issued.

Rain alert in Rajasthan

Like April-May in Rajasthan, in the meantime, there will be big changes in the weather due to the active Western Disturbance in Bikaner division. The sky will be cloudy with dusty wind blowing at other places including Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner. Drizzle is possible at some places. Moderate rain warning has been issued in Hanumangarh, Churu, Bikaner today. At the same time, till March 4, the possibility of hailstorm along with rain and strong wind has been expressed in the areas. In the districts of Udaipur, Sihora, Kota, Jhalawar also, light drizzle is possible at some places along with cloud cover with light dust storm.

Temperature will increase in Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh

Western Disturbance is active over the Western Himalayas. On the other hand, the process of increase in temperature continues in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh. In fact, there is a possibility of increasing the temperature by 4 to 5 degree Celsius in these areas. At the same time, there will be a dust storm in some places. The heat of the sun will be intense. Along with this, there will also be an experience of humidity.

Temperature will increase in Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a huge rise in temperature in Goa including Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra. A forecast of temperature reaching 37 degrees was issued. With the dusty storm in March, a forecast of rising heat has been issued. With the widespread increase in temperature, the flow of warm air will intensify.
