The effect of monsoon has been seen in the entire country this season. Sometimes the rain stopped and sometimes heavy rains brought relief to the people. In the last few days, the speed of monsoon has once again increased, due to which the mood of the weather has changed in many states.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert in the latest bulletin saying that a strong monsoon system will remain active in many parts of the country from 5 to 11 September. During this time, the effect of heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds will be clearly felt.
Heavy rain predicted in North-West India
According to the Meteorological Department, the impact of monsoon may deepen on large parts of North-West India. Rainfall is likely to continue for the next one week in states like Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. While there will be light to moderate rain in some of these areas, heavy rain is also expected in some districts. Also, warning of strong winds and thunderstorms has also been issued, due to which the general public needs to be cautious.
Period of rain in eastern and central India
Monsoon activity will also be seen in eastern and central India. Heavy rains are expected in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region from 5 to 11 September. Due to the constantly changing weather in these areas, light rains can be seen at many places and heavy rains in many parts. An alert has also been issued for thunderstorms and lightning.
Clouds will rain intermittently in western India
The effect of monsoon will also deepen in West India during this period. Many districts in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat-Saurashtra and Konkan region may receive intermittent heavy rains for the next seven days. The Meteorological Department has forecast moderate to heavy rains with strong winds here. However, there will also be chances of light rain in some areas. Due to this, people have been advised to be cautious and keep an eye on weather updates.
Monsoon will remain active in South India too
The weather department has predicted heavy rains in the states of South India as well. Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh (coastal and Rayalaseema), Yanam and Lakshadweep may witness heavy rains for the next seven days. Heavy rains are likely at many places and moderate rains in some districts. There will also be a risk of strong winds and lightning.
Series of heavy rains in Northeast India
The effect of monsoon will be felt most in North-East India. Heavy to very heavy rains are predicted in states like Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. According to the Meteorological Department, life may be affected due to continuous heavy rains here. At the same time, people may have to face problems due to slow but continuous rain in some areas.
