IMD Alert: Heavy rain in these states today, icy winds will blow here, cold wave will wreak havoc

According to the Meteorological Department, due to snowfall in the mountains for the last several days, cold winds are coming in Delhi. The speed of these winds coming from the north-west direction has also increased on Monday. Due to this, chill is being felt in the morning and evening. The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Monday was 7.1. The sky will remain cloudy in Delhi for the next four days. There will be light fog in the morning.

The minimum temperature in Delhi today may be around 6 degrees. People are shivering in areas across North India including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The snowfall that started in the hilly areas has further increased the chill in the plains. At the same time, rain continues in South India. Talking about the weather of December 19, according to the report of Skymet Weather, heavy to very heavy rain is possible in Southern Tamil Nadu, Southern Kerala and Lakshadweep. Rain will reduce in Tamil Nadu and Kerala but rain will continue in Lakshadweep.

Light to moderate rain is possible over parts of North Tamil Nadu, North Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light rain is possible in the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh and southern Karnataka. There will be a slight drop in minimum temperatures in parts of North-West India and Central India. Due to the recent western disturbance, there has been heavy snowfall in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Ski resorts of Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg as well as parts of Bandipur, Sadhna Top, Gurez Valley, Mughal Road, Machil area etc received some snowfall. These activities started on Saturday evening and continued till Sunday morning. Apart from this, Mughal Road was also closed due to these snowfall activities. The Western Disturbance which had brought rain and snowfall across the region on 16th and 17th has now gone away. But as a result the roads have been closed. Actually, according to reports, tourists were stuck in Gulmarg ski resort due to such heavy snowfall.
