In the evening , moderate rains lashed Kolkata and its neighboring Howrah and North 24 Parganas districts and other parts of South Bengal. According to news agency PTI, at around 7:20 pm, a thunderstorm raged over Kolkata with a speed of 64 kmph from northwest. While Alipore Observatory (South Kolkata) recorded 11.3 mm of rain, Dum Dum (North Kolkata) recorded 27.6 mm of rain, a meteorological department spokesperson said.

A Yellow Alert is in effect for West Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West UP, MP and Jharkhand for 1 May.
