New Delhi . It is mandatory for the members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) to file an e-nomination to avail welfare benefits to their families. In case of death of a member, e-nomination is necessary for online claim settlement in the case of provident fund, pension (EPS), insurance (EDLI) benefits.
In today’s digital age, the process of e-nomination is very simple. For this, the member does not need to go to his local EPF office. You can file nominations online from the comfort of your homes. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has given the facility of e-nomination to its member employees. For online nomination, the member has to provide KYC details for each nominee. However, let us tell you that the facility of e-nomination can be availed by only those members whose Universal Account Number (UAN) is active. Also, for this it is also necessary to link the mobile number with Aadhaar. According to the report published in Livemint , EPF nomination is also valid for Employee Pension Scheme.
This is the process
- Go to the website of the Employee Provident Fund Organization and click on ‘For
- Employees’ in the Services section.
- Now click on Member UAN / Online Service.
- After this, now log in by entering UAN and password.
- Select e-Nomination in the Manage tab.
- Now the Provide Details tab will appear on the screen. You click on save.
- Click on Yes to update family declaration.
- Now click on Add Family Details. You can add more than one nominee.
- For which amount will come in the share of which nominee, click on nomination details.
- After determining the share, click on Save EPF Nomination.
- Click on e-Sign to generate OTP. OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
- Submit the OTP by writing it in the prescribed space.
- E-nomination will be registered with EPFO. There is no need to send any document to the employer or ex-employer after e-nomination.
