New Delhi: Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday said that a single examination will be conducted by the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to make the process of recruitment in different departments of the central government easy and transparent.

There will be one examination center in every district

This information was given by the Minister of State for Personnel and Training, Singh in reply to supplementary questions during the Question Hour in Rajya Sabha. He said that the government’s plan was to start the Joint Eligibility Test this year but it could not be possible.

He said that under the new system, there will be at least one examination center in every district of the country so that no one is inconvenienced.

He said that in the initial phase, the posts related to banks, railways and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will be included in this examination and later this system will be widened.

Referring to the figures, Singh said that during the seven-year tenure of this government, not only has the recruitment process been expedited but also emphasis has been laid on creation of new posts.

6.98 lakh recruitments done during the tenure of Modi government

However, during this period of about one and a half years was also affected by the Kovid-19 epidemic.
