In the first schedule, there is a list of public holidays on which state (government) offices, etc., under the Haryana government, will remain closed, the total number of days is 30, although these 8 days of holidays are not directly included which are Saturdays. And fall on Sundays because the offices of the state government are generally closed on both these days.
The second schedule lists 13 optional holidays (restricted holidays) out of which government employees (including those with outsourcing policies) can take any 3 holidays in a calendar year. Before the year 2018, however, the number of these optional holidays was only 2. The Third Schedule lists 19 public holidays declared for the State except the Judicial Courts located in the State which have been declared under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act (Negotiable Instruments Act), 1881 which are generally known as “Bank Holidays”. It is also called because on these holidays not only all the banks of the state but other organized business and commercial institutions etc. remain closed.
Advocate Hemant Kumar said that in the notification issued on December 16, the above 30 holidays declared in the offices of Haryana Government have been mentioned as Public Holidays, whereas in reality it is Government or Gazetted Holidays (Government or Notified Holidays).
