New Delhi. Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has told that it has used monoclonal antibodies on two corona patients. It is also called antibody cocktail. According to the information given by the hospital, after the use of this drug, patients showed good recovery in the first seven days, due to which the final results have also been positive.
The hospital said, ‘A 36-year-old healthcare worker was facing many other problems including high fever, phlegm, tremendous weakness. He was given the drug REGCov2 (CASIRIVIMAB Plus IMDEVIMAB) on the sixth day of illness. The patient’s condition improved within the next 12 hours. He was discharged the next day.
Trial news came a week ago
About a week ago it was reported that Gangaram Hospital has started the trial of monoclonal antibody therapy. The hospital’s chairman DS Rana had said that the cost of this single dose drug would be Rs 59,750. Casirivimab and Imdevimab medicine will be given under this cocktail. It is being said that the use of this drug reduces the risk of hospitalization of corona patients by up to 70 percent.
Pharmaceutical company Roche India and Cipla announced
In late May, pharmaceutical companies Roche India and Cipla announced the launch of Roche’s antibody cocktail in India. Cipla and Roche had said in a joint statement, “The first batch of Antibody Cocktails (casirivimab and imdevimab) is available in India, while the second batch will be available by mid-June. Altogether two lakh patients can be treated with these doses.
