The thing is, investors are piling back in as global economic jitters refuse to fade. According to a new Goldman Sachs report, about $70\%$ of institutional investors are betting that gold prices will keep climbing well into next year. Here’s the kicker: 24K gold just jumped by ₹650 per 10 grams, bringing the rate to a staggering ₹1,34,510.

The Daily Price Breakdown

If you’re planning a trip to the jeweler today, the numbers are looking heavy.

  • 24-Carat (Investment Grade): Now sitting at ₹13,451 per gram. A full 100-gram bar will set you back a cool ₹13.45 lakh.

  • 22-Carat (Jewelry Standard): Rose to ₹12,330 per gram. This is the one most people are buying for wedding season, and the ₹600 jump per 10 grams is definitely going to be felt.

  • 18-Carat (Budget/Lightweight): Reached ₹10,088 per gram, up by ₹49 from yesterday.

City-Wise Snapshots

Prices aren’t uniform across the country, so where you buy matters. Chennai remains the most expensive major metro for the yellow metal, while Mumbai and Kolkata are slightly more “affordable” by comparison.

City 24K Gold (Per Gram) 22K Gold (Per Gram)
Chennai ₹13,528 ₹12,400
Delhi ₹13,466 ₹12,345
Mumbai ₹13,451 ₹12,330
Bangalore ₹13,451 ₹12,330

Let’s be real—gold has become the ultimate “fear hedge” again. Between the stalled India-US trade talks and the rupee hitting record lows, everyone is looking for a safe place to park their cash. It’s an ongoing rally that doesn’t seem to care about high prices, or nothing.
