Finance Minister gave indications for another relief package in FY21

The government has not discontinued any further relief package options for the financial year ending 31 March 2021.




Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Monday that the government has not discontinued any further relief package options for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2021. Significantly, just a week ago, the government announced several steps to promote consumer spending and capex in the economy.

Let me tell you that all the business organizations of the country have also demanded another relief package from the government. On the other hand, the government is also saying that it is not in a position to take any more loan. The central government will take a loan of Rs 12 lakh crore in the current financial year.

Finance Commission Chairman N.K. On the occasion of the release of Singh’s book Portrait of Power, Sitharaman said that the review of the decline in GDP has been started. They are also getting information in this regard. He said that the decision can be taken on the basis of the evaluation being done by the government.

Finance Minister Sitharaman has also given strict instructions to big government companies to increase capex (capital expenditure). He has said that large PSU companies should complete 75% of planned capital expenditure by December 2020. This will help reduce the ill effects of Corona (Covid-19) on the country’s economy. In an online meeting with the Secretaries of the Ministry of Coal, Petroleum, Natural Gas and the Chairman and Managing Directors of the 14 PSU companies attached to them, he appealed for speedy working on capital schemes.
