Despite having a medical emergency, Ramesh did not use his provident fund i.e. EPF. Ramesh had hoped that in his absence, the family would get the PF claim very easily. However, due to a mistake by Ramesh, the family is facing a lot of trouble for PF, Pension (EPS) and Insurance (EDLI) claims.
What is the omission: Actually, the EPF account holder i.e. Ramesh did not complete the process of e-nomination. Because of this, the family of the EPF account holder has to struggle a lot for the claim. Taking lessons from the incident, the EPF account holder should complete the process of e-nomination.
Process of e-nomination: –
- First of all visit the link of EPFO- https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
- After this, the new page that will open, log in there with UAN and password.
- In the next step, select e-nomination under Manage tab.
- Here the Provide Details tab will appear on the screen, where click on Save.
- In the next step, click on Yes for family declaration.
- Then click on Add Family Details. Here you can add more than one nominee.

- In the next step, click on Nomination Details for Total Amount Share. After that click on Save EPF Nomination.
- Now in the next step, click on E-Sign. This OTP will be sent to the same mobile number which is registered with Aadhaar.
- After this step the e-nomination gets registered with EPFO. After this process, you will not need any kind of physical document. Explain that from time to time, EPFO advises its account holders to complete the process of e-nomination.
