Usually the government constitutes a pay commission every 10 years to review and revise the salaries of its employees. The 7th Pay Commission is ending on 31 December 2025, which came into effect from 1 January 2016. Now everyone is waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, which is expected to be implemented from January 1, 2026.
The government increases DA twice a year so that the salary of the employees can also be adjusted according to the rising inflation. In January, DA was increased by 2 percent, which increased from 53 percent to 55 percent. Now after the data of All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW) in June, it is likely to increase by 3 percent.
On calculation according to the DA formula, there is a possibility of an increase of 58.18 percent in DA. After the government’s announcement, DA is added to the salary. Usually its announcements are made just before the festive season. In such a situation, this time too the announcement of DA hike can be made in October around Diwali.
