Whose challan will be waived?
According to the Transport Department, challans that were pending in court as of December 31, 2021, will now be displayed on the portal under the “Disposed-Abated” category. Furthermore, challans whose challans never went to court but whose time limit has passed will be closed as “Closed-Time-Bar.”
Boxes like high security number plate and fitness permit vehicle transfer related to these challans will also be abolished. Know that according to the data of the Transport Department, from the year 2017 to 2021, a total of 30 crore 52 lakh e-challans were issued, out of which 17 crore 59 lakh cases have been settled. At the same time, the target has been set to settle the remaining 12 crore 93 lakh challans in the next 30 days.
