Power Crisis: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Power Minister Satyendar Jain have expressed concern about the power crisis on Friday. Satyendra Jain said that there is a serious coal crisis across the country and in many places only one day’s reserve coal is left.
‘Less than a day’s stock is left,’
he said, “neither is there (power) backup.. (coal backup) should be for more than 21 days, but in many power plants, less than a day (stock) left.”
‘There is a shortage of coal in the country’
Jain said a day after the emergency meeting on the issue, “If electricity is being produced and we keep getting it, then there is no problem. But if the power plant is shut down If it goes, it will become a problem (in Delhi). There is a shortage of coal in the country.”
‘Extreme power shortage across the country’
In this matter, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “There is a severe shortage of electricity in the country. So far we have somehow managed it in Delhi. The situation is very serious all over India. We need to find a solution together soon. There is a need for quick, concrete steps to deal with this.”
Delhi Metro may come to a standstill
“Due to disruption in power supply from Dadri-II and Unchahar power stations, 24 hours power supply to essential institutions including Delhi Metro and Delhi government hospitals may be affected,” the Delhi government said in a statement on Thursday.
