Delhi government gave relief to the poor, sent 5000 rupees to the workers’ account, know details

Money has already been sent to 4.92 lakh workers registered with the Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board. Due to lack of documents in the bank account of some workers, they did not get the money.


The Delhi government has released financial assistance of five thousand rupees each to 23,256 construction workers. A total of Rs 11.6 crore will reach the account of all workers in the next one or two days.

Efforts to help: In order to provide relief to the workers affected by the ban on construction works due to pollution last year, the Kejriwal government released the assistance amount on Monday. So far, the government has sent Rs 350 crore in different phases for financial assistance to different laborers. According to officials, money has already been sent to 4.92 lakh workers registered with the Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board. Due to lack of documents in the bank account of some workers, they did not get the money.

Workers the backbone of the country: On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the Delhi government is standing with the construction workers at every step. Construction workers are the backbone of the country. He said the suspension of construction activities in Delhi had affected the livelihood of the workers. This financial help is being given to compensate for that.

Those whose accounts are not updated, they must do it

  • There are about 11 lakh construction workers in the capital Delhi, out of which nine lakh workers are registered with the welfare board.
  • Sisodia said, workers who have not received the assistance due to problems in their bank accounts or due to non-updation of account, they should get their bank account details modified free of cost on the e-district website.
  • Those whose old registration has not been renewed, they should also complete their registration process.
  • One can also get benefits of various schemes for construction workers like education, health benefits, marriage, motherhood, pension etc.
