DA Hike Announcement: After the government employees of Telangana, now the employees of the electricity department have got a gift. The state government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) for the employees of the electricity department by 1.944%. This will benefit 71,417 employees and pensioners across the state.
DA Hike Announcement: After this increase, the DA has been increased from 14.074% to 16.018% and the revised rate will be applicable retrospectively from January this year. The increased DA will result in an additional monthly burden of ₹ 11.1 crore on power utilities. The revised DA will also apply to artisans along with electricity employees and pensioners. This information has been posted by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on X.
Dearness allowance of government employees was increased only last week
Recently, the Telangana government had increased the dearness allowance (DA) of government employees by 3.4 percent. The new rates will be applicable from January 1, 2023, so arrears from 2023 to 2025 will also be available. The order of the Finance Department states that the DA of the employees has been increased from 26.39% of the basic salary to 30.03% of the basic salary from January 1, 2023. Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners has also been increased from 26.39% of the basic pension to 30.03% from January 1, 2023.
Arrears will also be paid
Retired employees will get their DA arrears in 28 installments. For those covered under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), 10% of the DA arrears will be added to their PRAN accounts, while the remaining 90% will be paid in installments along with the June salary. Separate orders will be issued regarding the pending DA from July 1, 2023. The benefit will also be applicable to the employees of Zila Parishads, Mandal Parishads, Gram Panchayats, Municipal Corporations, Municipal Corporations, Agricultural Market Committees and District Headquarters Institutions, work-in-charge establishments, who are drawing pay in regular pay scales in Revised Pay Scales, 2020, teaching and non-teaching staff of aided institutions including aided polytechnics who are drawing pay in regular pay scales in Revised Pay Scales, 2020.
