According to the Meteorological Department, this cyclone is moving at a great speed in the north and northwest direction. It is estimated that its speed will increase further. Cyclone Amfan can collide in Digha in West Bengal and Hadiya in Bangladesh by this afternoon.
The cyclonic storm is approaching Odisha’s Paradip coast. At 8:30 in the morning, it was just 120 km east-southeast of Paradip. It is near the Sundarbans. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of hitting the coast by noon.

Strong winds have started blowing in Bhadrak, Odisha. The Meteorological Department has estimated that the cyclone will hit the coast of Odisha around 2:30 pm.
Strong winds have increased in Chandipur in Balasore. There is a stir on the coast. Amfan can cause havoc in 8 states along the coast including Odisha. In view of this, an alert has already been issued in Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu. NDRF teams have been deployed in Odisha and West Bengal. The Chief Minister of Odisha has said that not a single person is killed by the storm, it has been arranged.
At the same time, the effect of super cyclone amphon may also be on the monsoon. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be some delay in arrival of monsoon. The Indian Meteorological Department says that earlier the monsoon was expected by June 1, but now it may take a few days more due to the Amphon cyclone. At the same time, Kerala is also expected to reach the late monsoon. The Indian Meteorological Department said in its forecast that the monsoon will arrive late this time in Kerala. The Meteorological Department said that the monsoon in Kerala this year may come till June 5.
Last year, the monsoon arrived in Andaman and Nicobar on 18 May, two days before its due date, but due to slowing down, it was late in Kerala, while the monsoon started in the whole country on 19 July. According to the department, the monsoon will be normal this year.
