If you also have a credit card then you need to be careful. These days many gangs doing cyber fraud are active. Don’t let it happen that you too may get hit hard.

New Delhi. You must have read and heard many methods of online frauds. Now another method has been added to this list. In this, those who hold credit cards are being targeted. If you also have a credit card then you need to be careful. You must know how fraud is being done with credit card people, so that no such fraud happens with you.

A case of fraud through credit card has come to light from Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh. Ravi Shankar Singh, a resident of Takia Road in Ambikapur, has become a victim of this fraud. He has complained to the police after cheating and the police has registered a case against unknown people.

Tempted with reward points

Ravi Shankar Singh, who became a victim of this cyber fraud, has explained in detail how he was cheated in the complaint given to the police. A news has been published about this in Patrika.com. Ravi Shankar has told that he has an account in Axis Bank. A credit card has also been issued to him by the bank. The talk is of 24 September, when Ravi Shankar’s phone was ringing. The time was around 3 o’clock.

When Ravi Shankar picked up the phone, the person speaking from the front introduced himself as an employee of Axis Bank’s credit card department. In reality he was a fraudster. That deceiver had already made up the whole deceit. He said that this is an important call made by the company. Ravi Shankar at first thought that there might be some dues, which he has not paid, but it was not so. The thug told Ravi Shankar- ‘Your credit card has 13 thousand reward points left. You haven’t used it in a long time. Today is the last date, if you do not use it today then it will be over.

Why did Ravi Shankar get convinced?

Almost every credit card giving company says whenever it creates new customers that they will get reward points on different transactions and those reward points can be used like rupees. For example, you can get your points adjusted in the bill. As soon as Ravi Shankar was told that his reward points were left, he felt that he must have really survived, as he had never used them.

When Ravi Shankar was convinced, he asked the thug how it could be used. On this the thug said that he would help them. The thug told that he would send a link to them. After filling the requested information on that link, you have to submit it. After this the duration of your reward points will be increased. Ravi Shankar agreed with that thug and asked to send the link.

Ravi Shankar got the link within a few moments and filled all his information (including credit card) in that link. After this a popup message came in front of Ravi Shankar that you should check your reward points. As soon as Ravi Shankar tapped on it to check the points, that popup closed. After this, there were two transactions with his credit card. Ravi Shankar had lost Rs 1 lakh 16 thousand in two occasions.

If this happens to you…

These thugs do not have mercy on anyone. Can commit crime with anyone. Suppose if this happens to you, what would you do? How to find out that fraud is happening with you or is it really a call from the company itself? Always keep two things in mind-

First thing, if you do not know whether the call is genuine or fraud, then you should not share your personal information with anyone under any circumstances. Do not give the information written on your card to anyone. Then why should not the person seeking information tell himself to be the owner of the company. If you can do this, it will be enough. Fraud can never happen to you.

Secondly, a toll-free number is written on the back of every credit or debit card. From this number you can talk to the customer care of the company. If you come across such an offer, talk to the caller. Hang up the phone and call the toll-free number given on the back of the card. Whatever information you will get there, it will be perfect. You confirm the offer by calling that number.
