China Visa: China will start online visa application for Indians from December 22, 2025. Zhu Feihang’s announcement will increase cooperation in the fields of tourism, education and business.

Visa services between India and China were completely suspended in 2020 due to border clashes between the two countries. This suspension caused inconvenience to citizens of both countries in many areas like business, tourism, education, and jobs. However, this situation is now gradually changing. After a long hiatus, China has decided to resume visa facilities for Indian travelers. With this, experts believe that relations between the two countries are moving towards normalcy again.

China has announced that it will officially re-open the online visa application system for Indians from December 22, 2025. This information was revealed by Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong through his X (Twitter) account. The launch of online application will reduce the need to visit the consulate for visas and provide the facility of applying from home. This response from China is seen as another step in cooperation between the two countries, as India restored tourist and business visas for Chinese citizens in November 2025.

In a post on his social media, Xu Feihong said: “The Chinese Embassy in India will officially launch the China Online Visa Application System on December 22, 2025. Applicants can fill out the form online and upload the required documents. For more details, please visit the official website.” The announcement has been met with a large response from tourists, students, and business travelers.

In addition to the online system, the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Delhi will continue to operate as usual for those who need assistance. The centre will operate from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday. Located on the concourse floor of Shivaji Stadium Metro Station in Connaught Place, the centre will be of great help to those who need to submit visa documents or seek advice in person.

To apply for a Chinese visa, each candidate must fill out an online form. The link provided for this is: visaforchina.cn. The applicant must carefully fill in all the sections such as his/her clear photograph, personal details, visa type, employment information, education details, family details, purpose of visit, and past travel details, along with all the other details. Even a small mistake in the information can lead to a delay in visa processing, so it is advisable for applicants to check the details before filling them.

Visa Fees and Payment DetailsVisa fees vary depending on the visa type.Single Entry Visa – ₹2900Double Entry Visa – ₹4400Six Month Multiple Entry Visa – ₹5900One Year Multiple Entry Visa – ₹8800The Visa Centre is currently accepting payments in the form of cash or demand draft only. Application service fees are non-refundable, so it is important to verify all documents before applying.

Express service is also available for those who need a visa urgently. However, such applications must be submitted before 12 noon on the fourth working day. Once the application is approved, the visa can be collected after 3 pm on the same day. This is very useful for urgent business trips, medical trips or quick trips. Chinese visa centers also have their own dedicated websites. These provide facilities like latest information, online form completion, and visa status check. Arrangements like digital system for appointment and token system at the counter make the application process easier. These help in efficiently handling the large number of applications.
