Central Government’s New Doorstep Banking Service Will Now Get All Banking Facilities At Home

Doorstep Banking Service: One of the best things the Modi government has done is to connect all people with banking facilities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the Jan Dhan Yojana at the beginning of his tenure under which he had provided banking facilities. Crores of people are connected with banking facilities through this scheme. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has now launched the door-step banking service on Wednesday to make banks reach the ordinary man. Through this service, people will be able to get all the banking services of the bank sitting at home.



What is door-step banking service?
The Reserve Bank of India, the National Bank of India, launched the door-step banking service a few years ago. Now, some public sector banks are going to provide banking services to customers through common service provider. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced door-step service of public sector banks. Through this scheme, citizens will be able to do a lot of work, including depositing money, withdrawing money, depositing cheques. While customers will have to pay some charge to avail these facilities, it will be very beneficial for those who do not like to go to the bank.

Door-step banking will now be available to all people
Earlier, it was said that this services would be only for the people of the disabled and for the disabled people who cannot go to the bank. But now these services will also be provided to the common citizens. It will be used by customers of public banks through web portals, mobile banking applications and call centres. The services will be run through agents of banks. So far, it is not confirmed that the agents will be given a salary, or will be placed on commission according to work.

When will door-step banking start??
Through door step banking service, customers will also be able to avail financial facilities related to money transactions with facilities like non-financial services such as cheques, demand drafts, pay orders. According to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the door step banking service will be launched from next month. Any customer availing banking facilities will be able to avail these services at some normal charge. That is, through door step banking services from next month, citizens will be able to avail the benefits of banking facilities such as withdrawal of money, deposits, demand drafts, pay orders and cheques, etc.

Not only that, but the facilities like form-15g and 15H, income tax or GST (Goods & Service Tax) challan to be deposited to save tax on FD (Fixed Deposit) interest through door step banking services can also be availed through the agent.
