Central government employees news: Central employees are going to get a big gift from the Central Government. Employees are going to get bonus on Diwali. However, this is yet to get approval from the Finance Ministry. But, like every year, this year too the government will definitely give gifts to the central employees. Non-Productivity Linked Bonus (Adhoc Bonus) is given to the employees of the center. In this bonus, you would get money equal to 30 days’ salary. This money is given to Group C and Group B category employees.

Which employees will be covered?

Bonus is also given to those non-gazetted employees of the Central Government falling in Group B and Group C. These are those employees who are not covered under any productivity linked bonus scheme. Employees of central paramilitary forces also get the benefit of Adhoc Bonus. Apart from this, temporary employees also come under its purview.

How is the bonus amount decided?

Bonus is added based on the average salary of the employees as per the calculation ceiling, whichever is lower. Monthly bonus of 30 days will be equal to about one month’s salary. For example, if an employee is getting Rs 18000, then his 30 days monthly bonus will be approximately Rs 17,763. According to the calculation, Rs 7000*30/30.4 = Rs 17,763.15 (Rs 17,763). The benefit of such bonus will be available to those Central Government employees who have been in service till March 31, 2023. Has been given continuous duty for at least six months during the year 2022-23. Temporary employees appointed on adhoc basis will also get this bonus. However, there should be no break in service.

What are the rules for the bonus?

Employees who have gone out of service, resigned or retired on or before March 31, 2023, will be considered as special cases. Under this, those employees who have invalidly retired or died before March 31 on medical grounds, but have done regular duty for six months in the financial year, will be considered eligible for adhoc bonus.

Bonus will be decided on ‘Pro Rata Basis’ based on the nearest number of regular services of the concerned employee. In such a case, it is the responsibility of the borrowing organization to provide adhoc bonus, PLB, exgratia and incentive schemes etc., provided such provisions are in force. If an employee is in ‘C’ or above grade and is recalled from foreign service midway during the financial year, then a rule for adhoc bonus has been made in this regard. Under this, if the parent department of that employee has received bonus and ex-gratia amount from the foreign department in the financial year, then that amount will be given to the concerned employee. Even after reverting, if the employee has outstanding bonus to the Central Government, in such a situation the Central Government can impose a ban on his adhoc bonus.
