Big update on pensioners’ pension, government started preparations, pension payment-PPO will get benefit in gratuity

Till date, more than 162,000 cases have been processed or Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) have been issued. This also includes 96,000 e-PPOs.



The Modi government at the Center is once again taking big decisions in the interest of pensioners. In fact, AI Driven portal will be launched as an alert to send periodic information and new updates to pensioners including pension payment. So that the payment of other allowances including pension can be made to the pensioners on time. The minister has said a great deal in this regard.

In order to seamlessly process, track and disburse pension, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare will soon launch an Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled Common Single Pension Portal for the benefit of pensioners and elderly citizens. Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh said here that the AI-enabled portal will send automated alerts to future designated pensioners and retired elders. The portal will not only enable continuous interaction with pensioners and their unions across the country but will also receive their inputs, suggestions and complaints on a regular basis for quick response.

The future has ensured end-to-end digitization of pension processing and payments. At the same time, the officers have been advised to conduct pre-retirement workshops at regular intervals so that they can be mentored and learn from their experiences. Bhavishya Manch was made mandatory for all Central Government Departments from January 2017 and is now being implemented in the Chief Secretariat. From where 97 Ministries/Departments, including 815 attached offices. Together 7,852 Drawing and Delivery Officers (DDOs) are involved.

V Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare, said that the Pension Payment Order (PPO) in DigiLocker eliminates the delay in forwarding it to new pensioners and the need to hand over a physical copy. Given that a large number of retirees are from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). who serve in the far flung areas of the country. Such a software serves as a boon in terms of ease of processing and speed and accuracy.
