Under ‘Mission’ Yuva, people will get free Wi-Fi facility in major areas of Meerut city from next month. The team of Municipal Corporation and BSNL has started the survey. Station, all three bus stands, Collectorate, Circuit House, Begumpul, Ghantaghar etc. are currently being proposed. The report will be sent to the government by the municipal corporation in 10 days. The Wi-Fi facility will be launched in the first week of October next month. After that Apna Meerut will also join the cities with free Wi-Fi facility.





The state government has announced free Wi-Fi at 10 public places in 13 cities including Meerut with a population of more than one million and at five places in cities with a population of more than one lakh and up to 10 lakh. Additional Chief Secretary Rajnish Dubey sent a letter to the Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, asking him to select 10 places and submit a report at the earliest. Under this, on Thursday, the team of Municipal Corporation, BSNL surveyed the major places of the city. Within 10 days, the Municipal Corporation has to select at least 10 places and send the report to the Smart City Mission Director. Under the orders of the government, whatever works are to be done for the facility of free Wi-Fi, they will be completed in September. This facility is to be started from the first week of October. This facility will be launched from the government level. Wi-Fi facility in main public places like bus station, near railway station, near university, tehsil, court, registrar office,





These places have been surveyed
Collectorate, Meerut City Station, Bhainsali Bus Stand, Sohrab Gate Bus Stand, Mawana Bus Stand, Meerut College, University, Circuit House, Medical College, District Hospital, Ghantaghar, Begumpul. Amit Sharma, Nodal Officer, Meerut Smart City says that the survey has been started for free Wi-Fi service at major places in the city. The report will be given to the government soon.
