Digital payment users are about to experience a change that could eliminate their login hassles. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) will soon implement a rule that will allow users to log in to any UPI app and view their UPI transactions and auto payments (mandates) across the country in one place—even if they’ve been set up on another app. This system will need to be fully implemented by December 31, 2025.
What’s new?
Until now, if you activated a mandate on Google Pay and had other transactions on PhonePe or Paytm, you had to log in to each app separately. But with this new rule, regardless of which app you’ve set up auto payments on, all mandates will appear in a single app, and you’ll be able to manage them from there.
Mandate porting is now easier.
Furthermore, NPCI is rolling out a feature that will allow users to transfer (port) their mandates from one app to another. For example, if you’ve set up autopayments for Netflix or your electricity bill on Google Pay, you can move them to PhonePe or Paytm in just a few clicks.
NPCI has stated that this change
will also include security features such as biometric authentication and Face ID. This will further protect users’ personal information and transactions.
What benefits will users get?
- -Monitor all UPI transactions from a single app
- -Easy to track, edit, or cancel auto payments
- -Transactions can be fully ported when switching apps
- -Secure and seamless experience
