Bank Holidays March 2024: There will be a total of 14 days of holidays in banks in the month of March including Sunday and second-fourth Saturday. Reserve Bank has released the list of holidays.


Bank Holidays March 2024 Latest Update: In March 2024, there will be 14 days of holidays in banks of different states due to festivals, second/fourth Saturday and Sunday. Apart from this, bank branches remain closed on second-fourth Saturday and Sunday. Holidays on festivals are as per the list of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

However, it should be noted that in case of regional holidays, only banks in that state or region remain closed. Also, customers can avail online banking services even on bank holidays.

Bank holidays in March 2024

  • March 1 (Friday): Chapchar Kut (Aizawl)
  • March 3: Banks across the country will remain closed due to Sunday weekly holiday.
  • March 8 (Friday): Mahashivratri (Maha Vad-13)/Shivratri (Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram)
  • March 9: Second Saturday: Banks will remain closed across the country as it is the second Saturday of the month.
  • March 10: Banks will remain closed across the country as Sunday is a weekly holiday.
  • March 17: Banks will remain closed across the country as Sunday is a weekly holiday.
  • March 22 (Friday): Bihar Day (Patna) Due to it being Bihar Day, there will be a holiday only in Bihar.
  • March 23: Banks will remain closed across the country due to the fourth Saturday being a weekly holiday.
  • March 24: Banks will remain closed across the country as Sunday is a weekly holiday.
  • March 25 (Monday): Holi (2nd day) – Dhuleti/Dol Jatra/Dhulendi (everywhere except Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Imphal, Kochi, Kohima, Patna, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram)
  • March 26 (Tuesday): Yaosang 2nd day/Holi (Bhubaneswar, Imphal and Patna)
  • March 27 (Wednesday): Holi (Patna)
  • March 29: Good Friday (all places except Agartala, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Shimla and Srinagar)
  • March 31: Banks will remain closed across the country due to Sunday weekly holiday.

It is noteworthy that online banking does not stop even during holidays. Internet banking works 24 hours. If you want to withdraw cash then you can go to ATM and withdraw money as per your need. Also, if someone wants to transfer online then he can do the transfer online through internet banking. Additionally, customer services are available even on holidays.
