Bank Holidays In October: If you have any important work related to the bank this month, then this news can be useful for you. Let us tell you that the festive season is starting from October and in such a situation banks will remain closed in different states. According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India, banks will remain closed for 18 days in October. These holidays also include weekly holidays like second and fourth Saturday and Sunday. However, many holidays will be applicable only in some states.

Know when banks will remain closed?

Let us tell you that in some states there will also be a long bank weekend where banks will remain closed for four days. The long bank weekend started early this month as October 1 was a Sunday holiday, followed by Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) across India. Maximum number of banks will remain closed on October 24 due to Dussehra holiday (except Hyderabad and Imphal).

October 2023 Bank Weekly Holiday List –

  • October 1: Sunday
  • October 8: Sunday
  • October 14: Second Saturday
  • October 15: Sunday
  • October 22: Sunday
  • October 28: Fourth Saturday
  • October 29: Sunday

Banks will remain closed these days also –

  • 2nd October: Banks will remain closed across the country even on Gandhi Jayanti.
  • 14 October: Mahalaya (Kolkata)
  • 18 October: Kati Bihu (Banks will remain closed in Guwahati, Imphal, Kolkata.)
  • 21 October: Durga Puja (Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Guwahati, Imphal, Kolkata.)
  • 23 October: Dussehra, Ayudha Puja, Durga Puja, Vijaya Dashami (Agartalla, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong, Thiruvananthapuram)
  • 24 October: Dussehra/Durga Puja (Banks will remain closed across the country except Hyderabad, Imphal.)
  • 25 October: Durga Puja (There will be a bank holiday in Gangtok.)
  • 26 October: Durga Puja (Bank holiday in Gangtok, Jammu and Srinagar.)
  • 27 October: Durga Puja (Banks will remain closed in Gangtok.)
  • 31 October: There will be a holiday for the banks of Ahmedabad on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
