Bank Holiday: Banks will be closed tomorrow, Monday, in many states. Private and government banks will remain closed due to Mahasaptami and Durga Puja. Banks will be closed for several days due to Navratri and festivals next month.

These holidays will be on different days in different states. September-October 2025 is a month of festivals. These include major festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, Chhath Puja, and Durga Puja. Therefore, banks will remain closed in many states.

Banks will be closed on Monday, September 29, in Agartala, Gangtok, and Kolkata on account of Maha Saptami and Durga Puja. Maha Saptami is considered the most important day marking the beginning of Durga Puja. On this day, the seventh form of Goddess Durga is worshipped, and traditional rituals such as Ghatasthapana and Naaval Kal Baulana are performed in the pandals. Grand idols of Goddess Durga are installed in the pandals, and the atmosphere resounds with the sound of drums, chants, and devotion. From Maha Saptami onwards, the Durga Puja celebrations reach their full glory.

September 4 (Thursday): Onam in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

September 5 (Friday): Eid-e-Milad/Thiruvonam in several cities including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad.

September 6 (Saturday): Eid-e-Milad/Indra Jatra in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur and Srinagar.

September 12 (Friday): Friday after Eid-e-Milad in Jammu and Srinagar.

September 22 (Monday): Navratri establishment in Jaipur.

September 23 (Tuesday): Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti in Jammu and Srinagar.

September 29 (Monday): Maha Saptami/Durga Puja in Agartala, Gangtok and Kolkata.

September 30 (Tuesday): Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami in several cities including Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi.
