If you also had an account in Allahabad Bank, then get the cheque book changed in time, otherwise your old chequebook will be of no use… From 2021, the banking system will reject the old cheque. Due to which the old cheque book will become invalid. Therefore, bank customers have been advised to immediately visit their branch and apply for a new cheque book.

The bank did this tweet, the
bank tweeted and said, ‘Necessary information! Old cheques of erstwhile Allahabad Bank customers will not be accepted for payment with effect from 1st October 2021, you are requested to kindly get a new Indian Bank cheque book for seamless banking.’

From October 1, Allahabad Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India’s cheque book and MICR code are going to be invalid. These are banks.





Know which bank has been merged with
Allahabad Bank has been merged with Indian Bank, which has come into effect from 1st April 2020. Whereas Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India were merged into Punjab National Bank (PNB), which came into effect from April 1, 2019.

The information given by the
banks, the MICR code and chequebook of these three banks are valid only till 30 September 2021. The old MICR code and cheque book will be invalid from 1 October 2021. In order to continue banking transactions without any interruption, customers should collect fresh cheque books before 1 October 2021.

Do this work for new cheque book
The customer can collect the new cheque book from the nearest branch. Or if you want, you can also apply from Internet Banking (Internet Banking / Online Banking) or Mobile Banking. PNB customers can apply through ATM, Internet Banking or PNB One.



The account holders of these banks will be required to change their old IFSC code as per post-merger bank rules to use the facility of any online banking transaction. Therefore, if the account holders want to do online bank transfer to or from the specified banks, they have to remove the beneficiary from the payee list from the respective online banking web portal.
