Amul Price Cut: Amul has given a big gift to its customers. The company has decided to reduce the prices of around 700 of its products. This includes milk, ghee, butter to ice cream and frozen snacks. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells products under the Amul brand, said that the new prices will come into effect from September 22. With this, more than 700 products along with Amul will become cheaper. Amul has taken this decision after the announcement of reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates.
Ghee and butter will be cheaper
Ghee will be the most impacted under the new rates, with its price reduced by ₹40 per liter. The MRP of Amul Butter (100-gram pack) has also been reduced from ₹62 to ₹58. The company says this decision is aimed at providing direct benefits to customers and making household products more accessible.
The MRP of a 1-kg Amul processed cheese block has been reduced by ₹30 to ₹545 per kg. The new MRP of a 200-gram frozen paneer will be ₹95 from ₹99 currently, effective September 22nd. The price of UHT milk has been reduced by ₹3 per liter. Furthermore, the prices of Amul bakery and frozen snacks have also been revised.
“Amul believes that the reduction in prices will increase the consumption of dairy products, especially ice cream, cheese and butter, as per capita consumption in India is still very low, creating huge growth opportunities,” the company said in a statement.
GCMMF clarified that this price reduction reflects its commitment to fully passing on GST benefits to consumers. The statement further stated that Amul has always prioritized providing high-quality dairy and food products at competitive prices.
Mother Dairy also reduced prices
Before Amul, Mother Dairy had also announced a reduction in milk prices by Rs 2 per liter from September 22. The company has also reduced the prices of paneer, butter, cheese, and ice cream.
