Akasa Air on Saturday said it will commence operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) in a phased manner from December 25.
Connecting directly to four Indian cities, Akasa Air will operate its first flight between Delhi and NMIA on December 25. Services to Goa, Kochi and Ahmedabad will be launched in the next few days.
The airline said it will gradually expand operations from the second airport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, taking the number of weekly departures to 300 domestic and 50 international in the near future.

As part of its comprehensive network strategy, Akasa said it is also set to expand to 10 parking bases by the end of FY 2027. It will focus on international expansion in key Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian markets.

On October 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of Navi Mumbai International Airport. The airport was built at a cost of ₹19,650 crore.
Akasa Air is a new Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Mumbai, funded by the Rakesh Jhunjhunwala Group, and launched operations in July 2022. The airline focuses on customer service, affordable fares, and on-time performance, and is rapidly expanding its network.
Akasa Air is expanding its network and operates flights to major cities in India as well as international destinations such as Qatar. The company plans to expand to 10 parking bases by the end of fiscal year 2027.
