Now facial recognition has been added as a new method of Aadhaar verification. The UIDAI has also canceled about 6 lakh incorrectly generated Aadhaars by detecting various methods.



New Delhi. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is working continuously to prevent any misuse of Aadhar card. UIDAI is also continuously proactive to weed out the wrongly generated Aadhar card. UIDAI has canceled about 6 lakh duplicate Aadhar cards in the country. The authority has taken this action on wrongly creating duplicate Aadhaar. This information was given by the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajiv Chandrashekhar in the Lok Sabha last week.

Chandrashekhar had said that UIDAI is making the process of duplicate Aadhaar verification more efficient and now the face has also been added as a verification feature. Facial Recognition has also been implemented for pension verification in addition to duplicate Aadhaar. So far, about 1,00,000 pensioners have been authenticated with this technology.

How to Verify Aadhaar

  • Verifying your Aadhaar is very easy. You can easily do this work sitting at home with the help of your smartphone. Let us know how to verify Aadhaar –
  • First of all go to UIDAI website www.uidai.gov.in.
  • Click on ‘Verify Aadhaar (AADHAAR) number’ under ‘Aadhaar Services’ on the website. By doing this a new page will open.
  • On the new page, enter your 12 digit Aadhaar (AADHAAR) number and captcha.
  • If the Aadhaar number is genuine, the website will show the message ‘Aadhaar
  • Verification Complete’. Also other details will be shown. Like your age, your state name and last three digits of your mobile number etc.
  • If even after several attempts, you fail to verify the Aadhaar number, the website will show that your Aadhaar number is not present.
  • If it is not verified then do this work
  • If your Aadhaar is not verified, then you will have to visit the nearest Aadhaar
  • Enrollment Center with the required documents. Your biometrics will be re-verified and entered in the database of UIDAI. For this, you will be charged GST at the rate of 18 per cent along with Rs 25 and your Aadhaar will be updated.
