Salary will increase by fitment factor

The fitment factor plays an important role in the basic salary of central employees. Pay matrix has been made in the 7th pay commission, in them the salary is fixed on the basis of fitment factor. Revised basic pay is calculated from the old basic pay. In the last Pay Commission report, many important recommendations were given in the fitment factor. But, the fitment factor was also kept in 3 categories in it. At present, the employees are getting the fitment factor at the rate of 2.57 times.

3.68 times the fitment factor?

Employee organizations have been demanding for a long time to increase the fitment factor. At present it is at 2.57 times, but there is a demand to make it 3.68. If a decision is taken on this, then the basic salary of central employees can increase by up to Rs 8000. Filahal basic salary is Rs 18000 at Pay Level-1. If the fitment factor increases then it can go up to Rs 26000. Meaning it will directly increase by Rs 8000. Under the 7th pay commission, the entry level basic pay was increased from Rs 7000 to Rs 18000 in the year 2016.

Salary can be Rs 95680

Under 6th Pay Commission, the minimum pay scale was Rs 7,000 with fitment factor 1.86 times and increment 54%. Under the 7th Pay Commission, the minimum pay scale has reached Rs 18,000 after the fitment factor is 2.57 times and the increment is 14.29%. If the fitment factor is 3.68 times in the 8th Pay Commission, then the minimum pay scale will be 26,000. If the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 18,000, then his salary excluding allowances will be Rs 18,000 X 2.57 = Rs 46,260. But, if the fitment factor is 3.68, the salary will be 26000 X 3.68 = Rs 95,680. This means that directly the employees of Level-1 will get the benefit of Rs 49,420.

Will 8th Pay Commission be applicable?

4% dearness allowance is almost certain to increase in August for central employees-pensioners. Meanwhile, a big update has come out on the 8th Pay Commission (8th Pay Commission). It can be implemented from 1 January 2026. With its implementation, the minimum salary of central employees from Level-1 Pay Matrix will be Rs 26,000. However, no comment has been made on this by the government yet.
