In March 2022, the Union Cabinet had increased the dearness allowance of government employees by three percent under the Seventh Pay Commission. With this, the DA of the employees has increased by three percent to 34 percent.

Employees can get another big gift from the central government, because DA and DR are increased or revised twice a year during the month of January and July on the basis of retail inflation data. In such a situation, another increase in dearness allowance can happen during the month of July or August. If this happens, then the employees will get big benefits and the salary will increase.

The report on retail inflation for April is scheduled to be released this week. At the same time, the inflation rate in March has increased from 6.1 percent in February to seven percent and this inflation rate has been due to the continuous increase in the increase in food items. In such a situation, it is being estimated that in July, the DA to the employees may increase by 4 percent.
