At the same time, the arrears for the months of July and August will be given as arrears. The July dues will be received in October and the August dues in January next year. How many employees will benefit: About 9.61 lakh employees will benefit from this DA amendment. This hike will cost the state exchequer Rs 378 crore every month. The cabinet had approved an increase of 11 per cent in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for central government employees and pensioners with effect from July 1. This is benefitting more than 48 lakh central government employees and 65 lakh pensioners.
