7th Pay Commission: Government has changed this rules for central employees, check new rule quickly

7th Pay Commission: Employees joining after July 2025 will not get dress allowance for the entire year.

7th Pay Commission: The central government has made a big change in the dress allowance given to its employees. This is going to affect lakhs of employees. Actually, employees starting the job after July 2025 will not get dress allowance for the whole year. Now they will be given dress allowance on pro-rata basis. In such a situation, employees joining the job after July 2025 will be given this allowance only on the basis of the months from the date of their joining to June next year.

Allowance will be calculated on this formula

According to the order of the Finance Ministry issued in the month of March, the dress allowance will be calculated on the formula of (annual dress allowance ÷ 12) x (number of months from the month of joining to June next year). For example: If an employee starts the job in October 2025, then he will be given pro-rata allowance from October to June next year. That is, he will get the amount of allowance for only 9 months. Earlier, the dress allowance was given to the employees for the whole year.

How much dress allowance do you get

Let us tell you that under the 7th Pay Commission, the amount of dress allowance has been fixed according to different employee categories. Officers of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), and Coast Guard receive Rs 20,000 every year as dress allowance.

Apart from this, other employees like railway trackmen, running staff, staff car drivers, and non-statutory departmental canteen employees get an allowance of Rs 5,000 every year.
