Experts say that before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the government can give the gift of fitment factor to the central government employees. Apart from this, a decision can also be taken on dearness allowance and old pension scheme.

The government can give the biggest gift ever to the Central Government Employees in the new year. First dearness allowance, HRA, TA, after promotion, fitment factor can also be discussed next year. If sources are to be believed, the government can directly consider increasing the salary of the employees by Rs 8000. Actually, increasing the fitment factor will strengthen the base of government employees. At present, the employees get Rs 18000 as minimum wage under the 7th pay commission. The government can take a decision on this demand of central employees after the budget to be presented on February 1, 2023 next year.
Dearness allowance will increase again
The dearness allowance of central employees is reviewed every 6 months. On the basis of AICPI data, dearness allowance is increased twice a year. This growth happens in January and July. Like every year, in the year 2023 also there will be an increase in the dearness allowance of central employees. Dearness allowance for January 2023 will be announced before March. Looking at the inflation figures so far, it seems that next year also 4 percent DA Hike can happen. However, the AICPI index numbers for October, November and December are yet to come.
Will get the benefit of the old pension scheme!
Next year, the government can give a big gift of old pension to the central employees. In the year 2023, the Old Pension Scheme can be implemented. In fact, there has been a demand from the employees for a long time that the old pension should be implemented. Let us tell you that some states have also implemented the old pension keeping the election promises. The Punjab cabinet has also approved it. Actually, for this, the Central Government had sought opinion from the Ministry of Law regarding the old pension scheme.
