7th Pay Commission: The Center has given a big gift to some government employees after Diwali. Yes, in fact, the Central Government on Friday announced a 17 percent increase in the dearness allowance (GDS dearness allowance) for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) working in the post office.


Now these employees will get increased DA in their salary every month from November. The Center has increased the DA i.e. dearness allowance of Gramin Dak Sevaks to 31 percent. The Center has ordered to implement the increased DA immediately.

According to media reports, ADG of Postal Department Tarun Mittal said that Gramin Dak Sevak was getting the benefit of 14 percent increase in DA from July 1, 2021, but now the DA has increased by 17 percent to 31 percent. Explain that the salary of GDS starts from Rs 10000 to Rs 14500 per month and it is based on the working hours of the employees.


These employees are appointed as postmen in post offices. There are about 1.71 lakh employees in the postal department, while the number of GDS is close to 2.5 lakh. After the Center increased the DA of all central employees in October, now the DA of GDS has been increased. 47.14 lakh central government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners have benefited from the 3 percent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief.
