Before Diwali, the Defense Ministry has made a big announcement regarding family pension. According to the statement issued by the ministry, the maximum limit of family pension to be given to children has been increased. The benefit of this change will be given to those children whose mother and father are both employees of the Ministry of Defense. It is also necessary that the parents have been under the purview of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). Apart from this, the name of the child should be registered in the nominee of both.

How much has been the amount of pension:   According to the statement of the ministry, the highest pension payment in government service has been revised to Rs 2.5 lakh per month. The maximum limit of 2 family pension payable to one child or children in respect of both the parents has been revised, the statement said. This decision will be deemed to be effective from January 1, 2016.

This means that the children who were under its purview in the past will also get the benefit. The Ministry of Defense has implemented this order in respect of personnel of the Armed Forces.

Let us tell you that at present, the child of a government employee fulfills all the conditions, then he is eligible to get 2 family pension. The maximum amount of both family pensions is Rs 1,25,000 per month. If both the family pensions are payable at normal rates, then a maximum pension of Rs 75,000 per month can be given. Now after the new changes, the children of the employees of the Ministry of Defense will get a hefty amount as family pension.
