Your Pan Card will be made in just 10 minutes with the help of Aadhaar, Finance Minister has started the facility

New Delhi, Business Desk. If you have Aadhaar and your mobile number is registered in UIDAI database, then your PAN card will become instant. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman formally launched this facility on Thursday for immediate allocation of PAN card. The biggest feature of this process of making a PAN card is that it does not take time and this facility is being provided for free. In this process, the PAN card received is called e-PAN. 

Although Aadhaar-based e-KYC was formally launched on Thursday for immediate PAN issuance, the trial version of its beta version on the Income Tax Department’s e-filing website had been running since February.

According to news agency PTI, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in its statement said that the immediate allocation of PAN was formally launched by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday. Trial of its beta version was going on from February 12 and since then till May 25, 6,77,680 instant PANs have been allotted. It takes 10 minutes from the time the PAN card is applied to allotted. 



According to PTI, 50.52 crore PAN cards have been allocated to taxpayers till 25 May 2020. Of these, 49.39 crore PANs have been allocated at the individual level and more than 32.17 crore PANs are linked to Aadhaar. Let us know that the last date for PAN-Aadhaar linking is 30 June 2020. 

How to apply for immediate PAN

For e-PAN, the applicant has to visit the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department. There they will have to enter their Aadhaar number, after which an OTP will appear on their registered mobile number. After successfully completing this process, you will get an enrollment number of 15 digits. Through this, you can see the status of your PAN application. You can also download the PAN once it is allotted. According to the CBDT, the PAN will also be sent to the applicant via email after being allotted.
