Work From Home: Why bosses are afraid of employee's work from home, Satya Nadella told the big reason

San Francisco: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has given his opinion on the work-from-home culture after the Covid-19 lockdown. As reported by Windows Central, in a recent report on changes in workplace attitudes, the Microsoft CEO has commented that some bosses are skeptical of the work-from-home culture. He said that bosses are afraid that their employees may become lethargic while working from home.

What did Nadella say?
Nadella was quoted as saying, “We have to get past what we describe as ‘productivity paranoia,’ because all the data we have shows that more than 80 percent of people think they are very are productive – except their management thinks they are not productive.” It means there’s a real disconnect in terms of expectation and what they feel.”

Survey reference
The CEO cited a major survey in his organization about work from home. In that survey, 87 percent of Microsoft employees feel they are more productive working from home, while 80 percent of Microsoft’s managerial level think workers are less productive.

50% work from home
Nadella also said that before the pandemic, only 2 percent of vacancies on LinkedIn involved remote working, but since the pandemic, that number has increased to 20 percent. Microsoft’s current work from home policy allows employees to work remotely 50 percent of the time, with more than 50 percent subject to managerial approval.
