Wipro: India’s fourth largest IT company Wipro has recently hired freshers. Wipro has reduced the salary of freshers from 6.5 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs a year. Along with this, the company has also offered to join these onboard graduates soon. What did the freshers reply after the reduced salary with this offer – it may surprise you.
Company statement
“Associates were offered both options, with 92 per cent campus hires accepting the lower offer,” Wipro Chief Financial Officer Jatin Dalal told ET in a statement. New joinees have been hired on this package of 3.5 lakhs per annum.
This means that even after reducing the salary of Wipro, 92 percent freshers remained such who accepted this offer and joined the company.
Joining Wipro
Earlier in Wipro, where freshers were joined on a package of 6.5 lakhs per annum, the same is now being done on a package of 3.5 lakhs per annum. An e-mail was sent to the freshers on this salary from the Bangalore headquarter, in which they were offered early joining on this reduced salary. The company has refused to give any joining date to those selected candidates of Wipro who did not agree.

Wipro company spokesperson told on this that Wipro had onboarded the 2022 graduates. But, the onboard plan had to be changed as per the requirement. We are working on giving good offers.
