Heavy rain is going to return to Madhya Pradesh again. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for the next 24 hours. Under this alert, torrential rain is expected in 15 districts. Life may be affected due to continuous heavy rain in these areas.
The continuous rain in Madhya Pradesh for the last several days now seems to be stopping. On Thursday, heavy rain was recorded in only a few parts. Heavy rain occurred in Malajkhand area of Balaghat district, while moderate rain was also seen in Narmadapuram, Narsinghpur and Mandla districts. Light showers continued in major cities like the capital Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior and Jabalpur. The f;Meteorological Department says that there is no possibility of heavy rain anywhere in the state for the next two days. However, light to moderate rain will continue.
The new system will bring rain
If weather experts are to be believed, the state will see a big change again from September 15. The new system rising from the Bay of Bengal will move towards Madhya Pradesh. Due to its effect, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in the eastern parts on September 15 and 16. After this, there are chances of torrential rains in the western districts till September 17. That is, the monsoon may once again gain strength in the coming days and torrential rains may be seen in many districts of the state.
Rain quota fulfilled in many districts
This time the monsoon has showered its blessings on many parts of the state. According to official figures, the season’s average quota has been completed in Bhopal, Rajgarh, Raisen, Vidisha, Alirajpur, Barwani, Katni, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Mandla, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Datia, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch and Agar-Malwa districts. At the same time, rain has broken records in districts like Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Satna and Umaria. At many places, the rainfall has been more than 1.5 times the average.
Record breaking rain in Sheopur
The highest rainfall record has been recorded in Sheopur district. So far, 213 percent more water than the average has fallen here. The effect of this is that the water filling in the rivers and dams of the district has exceeded capacity. The administration had to deal with waterlogging and flood-like situation at many places. Although the weather is a bit calm now, but after the new system becomes active, the situation can become challenging again.
People can get some relief
At present, the people of the state have got some relief from heavy rains. In the districts where there was continuous flood and waterlogging, the situation has started improving now. Roads and low-lying areas are gradually getting empty of water. Farmers are also getting the benefit of this relief weather, because now they are able to focus on taking care of their crops. However, the Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains will return once again from next week, so it is important to be alert.
