The weather in Madhya Pradesh has taken a turn once again. Heavy rain is expected in many parts of the state on Friday. The Meteorological Department has placed approximately 17 districts, including Jabalpur, on alert.

Of these, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli have been warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours. Up to 8 inches of rain is expected in these districts. The Meteorological Department says this system will remain active until October 4th and could cause continuous rain.

Effect of cyclonic system

Meteorologist Arun Sharma said that currently, depressions and deep depressions are active in the eastern and western parts of the country. Along with these, two cyclonic circulation systems are also active. One of these systems is affecting the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh. Its effects will be clearly visible from Friday, and there is a possibility of good rainfall for the next 48 hours. This means that the people of the state may have to face more rain.

Alert in these districts

The Meteorological Department has issued different levels of alerts for Friday. An orange alert has been declared in Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli, due to the possibility of heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued in districts like Jabalpur, Satna, Panna, Maihar, Damoh, Katni, Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Narsinghpur, and Chhindwara. This means that there could be good rainfall here as well. Although there are signs that the system’s intensity will decrease somewhat from Sunday, light rain may continue.

Clouds rained on Dussehra too

Earlier, on Dussehra, many areas of the state received rain. Narmadapuram recorded more than half an inch of rain. Datia and Narsinghpur also received about the same amount. Drizzles in Bhopal, Indore, Naugaon (Chhatarpur), Sagar, and Tikamgarh made the weather pleasant on the festival day. This allowed people to celebrate the festival with increased joy and enthusiasm.

Monsoon departure process

Currently, the monsoon has departed from 12 districts of the state. These include Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Agar-Malwa, Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Ratlam. Furthermore, the monsoon has also returned from parts of Rajgarh and Ashoknagar. The Meteorological Department estimates that the monsoon will depart from the entire state by October 10th. However, this time the monsoon is departing a little later. Usually, it departs by October 6th, but due to an active system, its duration may be extended by a few more days.

Highest and lowest rainfall districts

This time, Guna district received the highest rainfall, with 65.6 inches. Mandla and Raisen also received over 62 inches of rainfall. Sheopur and Ashoknagar received over 56 inches. On the other hand, some districts received significantly less rainfall. Shajapur received only 28.9 inches, Khargone 29.6 inches, Khandwa 32 inches, Barwani 33.5 inches, and Dhar 33.6 inches. Rainfall was initially poor in the Indore and Ujjain divisions, but good September rainfall brought Indore back to normal levels. However, some districts in Ujjain still need improvement. Shajapur tops the list of districts with the lowest rainfall.
