Permission to vote by showing many documents other than Voter ID

For this, the Election Commission has told about those 12 documents. Voting can be done if any one of these documents is present. The names of these documents are as follows…

  • Aadhar card
  • PAN card
  • Unique Disability ID i.e. UDID ID
  • Service id card
  • Passbook issued by post office and bank
  • Health Insurance Smart Card issued by Labor Ministry
  • Driving license
  • Passport
  • Smart card issued by RGI under National Population Register (NPR)
  • Pension card
  • Official ID card issued for MP-MLA and MLC
  • MNREGA job card
  • It is mandatory to have name in the voter list to cast vote.

However, just by having an ID card you will not be able to vote. The most important condition for this is that your name should be in the voter list (Search your name in voters list). To cast vote, it is mandatory to have your name in the voter list. In such a situation, you should check whether your name is in the voter list or not.   • First of all you have to visit Elections24.eci.gov.in
  • Here you have to click on Search Your Name in Electoral Roll.
  • After this a new page will open in which three options are given to check the name in the voter list.
  • You can select any one of the options Search by EPIC, Search by Details, Search by Mobile.

Now to check the name in the voter list through the first option Search by EPIC, you will have to select the language and enter the EPIC number. After this, select your state and fill the captcha code and click on search. In this way, in just a few seconds you will get your name and all the details related to the polling centre.

At the same time, if you do not remember your EPIC number, then you can also check your name and other details in the voter list through mobile number (Search by Mobile). For this you must have a registered mobile number. Apart from this, there is also an option of Search by Details to check the name in the voter list. In this, after filling all the required details except your name, gender and date of birth, your details will be visible on the screen.

You can also use SMS service of Election Commission

Let us tell you that you can also use the SMS service of the Election Commission to check your name in the voter list. In this you have to send SMS to number 1950 by writing ‘After typing ECI (EPIC number)’. After this you will get complete details in the message.

If your name is not in the voter list, you will not be able to vote.

Keep in mind that if you have a Voter ID and your name is not in the voter list then you cannot cast your vote. At the same time, if your name is in the voter list and you do not have a voter ID, you can still cast your vote using the document specified by the Election Commission.
