How to apply for Malaysia PR?

The Immigration Department of Malaysia handles the application. Here is the general process:

  • – Confirm eligibility and prepare documents such as passport, proof of employment or investment, marriage certificate and recommendation letter.
  • – Submit the completed PR application to Putrajaya or district office.
  • – Pay the processing fee of RM 500 (approx. Rs 10,400).
  • – Wait for the assessment, which can take 2-5 years.
  • – If your visa is approved, a PR entry fee of RM 1,500 (approx. Rs 31,200) must be deposited. Additional fees may apply for dependents. Receive the blue MyPR card, which is your official proof of permanent residence.
