Vande Bharat: Vande Bharat sleeper train will start on this route before Diwali, know the details

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: After years of waiting, India’s first ‘Vande Bharat’ sleeper express train is likely to start in Bihar by the end of September.

The launch will come just before the upcoming assembly elections in the state and the festive season of Diwali-Chhath Puja, when lakhs of people travel to Bihar, providing great convenience to the passengers. According to sources, the train will run on the Delhi-Patna route, with an extension possible to Darbhanga or Sitamarhi as well.

Modern facilities will be available along with high-speed

Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are a major step in the modernisation of Indian Railways, bringing together high-speed travel, advanced safety features and improved passenger amenities for long-distance night journeys. They are designed for a speed of 160 km/h and have driver cabins at both ends. This eliminates the need for changing engines at terminals, which will significantly reduce the overall travel time.

Special focus on safety and passenger comfort

Safety is a major highlight of this train. It is equipped with indigenous Kavach anti-collision system, crash-proof coach design, special couplers and anti-climber features. Apart from this, CCTV cameras have been installed in every coach. Special attention has also been given to the convenience of passengers. The interiors have sleek glass fiber panels, soft lighting and ergonomically designed berths with extra padding. The staircase has also been redesigned to make access to the upper berth easier and safer. The train also has automatic sensor-based doors and modern bio-toilets.

The journey will be completed in half the time with Rajdhani Express

This train will complete the journey from Delhi to Patna in just 11.5 hours, whereas Rajdhani Express takes about 23 hours for the same distance. Thus it will complete the journey in almost half the time of Rajdhani Express. This train will provide passengers an economical and comfortable option compared to air travel. However, its ticket fare is expected to be 10-15% higher than Rajdhani Express.
