Indian Railways Latest Update: Railways informed that the number of coaches in train number 22895/22896 has been increased from 16 to 20. After this upgrade, now the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will have 18 AC chair car and 2 executive class coaches.

Indian Railways Latest Update: The number of coaches in the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express has been increased from 16 to 20 by the central government. This will improve ticket availability for passengers traveling from West Bengal to Jagannath Puri.

Increase coaches in Vande Bharat Express

Railways informed that the number of coaches in train number 22895/22896 has been increased from 16 to 20. After this upgrade, now the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will have 18 AC chair car and 2 executive class coaches.

On increasing the coaches in Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express, Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region Sukant Majumdar, who hails from West Bengal, welcomed this move of the Railways and thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

2 states will get relief

Majumdar wrote on the social media handle X, “Heartfelt gratitude to Indian Railways and Honorable Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for giving a big gift to Bengal and the devotees of Mahaprabhu Jagannath!”

He further wrote in the social media post, “25 percent coach increase has been announced in Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express, this is a big step towards faster and more comfortable travel.”

4 new AC chair cars added to the train

4 new AC chair car coaches have been added to Vande Bharat Express on Howrah-Puri route. This will help in reducing the crowd and long waiting list during weekends, holidays and festivals.

Majumdar further said, “The Puri-Howrah route is not just a rail link but it is an emotional connection between Bengal and the abode of Mahaprabhu Jagannath Dev.”

The move has been taken after analysing the growing demand of passengers, pilgrims and tourists. According to reports, the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express has been a success since its launch and a large number of passengers choose this train to go to Jagannath Puri, due to which the occupancy rate of this train reached 110 percent.
