UPSC Civil Services Mains 2025: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit card for the main examination of 2025. Along with this, the complete schedule and pattern of the examination has also come. Eligible candidates can download the admit card from the Union Public Service Commission website upsc.gov.in. UPSC Mains examinations will be held in two shifts on 22, 23, 24, 30 and 31 August.
UPSC has announced a total of 979 posts for the Civil Services Examination this year. Of these, 38 posts are reserved for Benchmark Disabled Persons. Apart from this, 150 posts are included for Indian Forest Service. Under this examination, candidates are recruited for many categories including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS), Indian Postal Service, Indian Railway Traffic Service, Indian Civil Accounts Service, Indian Trade Service, Indian Information Service, Indian Defense Accounts Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service and Indian Corporate Law Service.
Only those candidates are eligible to take part in this exam, who had appeared in the UPSC Pre 2025 exam held earlier in the year and were successful in it. Let us tell you, the Mains exam tests the candidates’ writing ability, analytical skills, deep understanding of the subject, knowledge on issues related to policy and administration. It will have 7 papers of 1750 marks, as well as two qualifying language papers.
Exam Pattern
Total Marks: 1,750 (7 papers of Mains)
Aptitude Based Language Paper: 2 (The marks obtained in this will not be included in the final rank)
All papers will be descriptive, in which detailed and analytical answers have to be written.
The exam will be held in two sessions
First Session: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Second Session: 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm

- Enter login information (registration number/roll number and date of birth).
- Download the admit card and take a printout.
- It is necessary to carry it with you to the exam center on the day of the exam.
